Turkey Finds a New Social Media App to Ban!

Turkey has banned Slide, the photo widget, according to Venture Beat. It’s another one of those all-too-popular “insulting to the founder” type objections. There were (or weren’t) photos that were (or weren’t) insulting to the founder of modern Turkey (Ataturk).
Slide is speaking to the Turkish government and reaching out to Turkish users. Let’s hope they don’t join YouTube/Google and Microsoft in accommodating censorship, but find a different way.
