Finish blogger Seppo Lehto has been sentenced to two years in prison, according to the Finnish site Kirnu. His crime appears to have been criticism of several of his country’s parliamentarians.
Google has interposed a warning to Lehto’s blog, saying, “Some readers of this blog have contacted Google because they believe this blog’s content is objectionable.”¬† No idea what the blog’s about from the language, but I imagine, given the douche-in-a-bomber-jacket-giving-a-piggy-salute photo, if he didn’t belong to the girlfriendless horde of European nazi douchebag bloggers.
Well, who knows? He’s probably another tool. (And if he is a would-be nazi, would someone snowshoe in and give him a shot in the nuts for me?) But now that Finland has joined such moral luminaries as Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Iran in throwing such tools into the clink, the great white north will no doubt shine forth as the New Jerusalem.

I’ve done some investigation on him. Seppo Letho is a Finnish nationalist and islamophobe. He has been sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison.

Although Lehto certainly has published very offensive material about several Finnish parliamentarians and other politicians, only one parliamentarian was among the plaintiffs of this sentence. This was the presently only openly gay member of the Finnish parliament and the sentence only referred to spreading false information about his sexual behaviour, including false pictures. Critizising his politics was not an item of the sentence.
The other plaintiffs were an African immigrant who has a long history of legal battles about Lehto, as well as a judge, a DA and other legal court personnell connected to Lehto’s trials with the African immigrant. Also here the charges included false allegations about the plaintiff’s private life, sexual behaviour and other personal conduct, also including fake pictures. Also the email-addresses of the plaintiffs were published, leading to numerous offensive postings at them.
Lehto also didn’t receive the harsh sentence without a warning, he already has two milder sentence about his online writings.
He also didn’t just write comments in his “blog”, but had, according to the sentence, created “at least” 41 websites with a very large amount of content and also spread his allegations over the Finnish “patrioottiradio”.
Whether the sentence is just or not in terms of freedom of speach can be debated. However, discounting the personal attacks of Lehto against the plaintiffs as appearing “to have been criticism of several of his country‚Äôs parliamentarians” doesn’t quite match the reality.

Has anyone in Finland made a petition for this man? This stifling of freedom of speech has to be stopped. The Muslims are winning if we allow this to continue.

The CPB stands against governmental interference with free speech. This does not mean we agree with the specific beliefs of those individuals. You make a Nazi salute on your blog? You are at that moment invited to suck it. But we’ll still defend your right to speak without government interference.
Mr. Lehto’s last comment has been deleted and he is invited to post no furhter comments. We support anyone against interference by GOVERNMENTS. That does not mean we are obliged to provide a platform for the aforementioned nutjobs to excuse themselves. (Especially when it’s the same old shit.)
