Liu Xiaoyuan, prominent Chinese blogger is being harrased by the Chinese authorities.¬† The outspoken blogger says in his blog that due to his stance in calling for free elections for their local lawyers association, the Justice Bureau has taken to punishing his for having¬† ‘personnel who haven‚Äôt required lawyer‚Äôs licence‘.
This is not Liu’s first run-in with the authorities and he had sued Chinese blog hosting firm, Sohu for censoring some of his blog posts. A case which the judicial system in China threw out.
Liu, who won the Duetsche Welle Best of Blogs award for best Chinese blog, has over a dozen blogs he publishes and you can find one here.   His quest for online freedom have led to harrassment from the authorities as well as his law practice being threatened with closure.
