Facebook recently revised their Terms of Service/Use, TOS, to include what can be called, controversial clause which would mean that anything you upload onto the site becomes the site’s property even after you decide to stop using Facebook.

The backlash was major to say the least, the web was awash with opinions and the general verdict from Facebook’s users and web users was that what Facebook was doing was wrong.¬† The company last week had to revert to the old TOS as the action had the potential of making people stop using facebook.

If you are part of our Facebook cause you will remember Curt writing an announcement about it. Now Facebook is trying to get its users to have some input in designing the new TOS and also in the sites redesign.

CPB hopes that all the corporates out there learn from Facebook’s mistake, primarily on the web users are ‘king’ what they generate is theirs to keep and delete as they please going on a tangent to arbitrarily change the TOSs mid-stream is not a good thing and there is bound to be backlash from this.

We hope that Google and Yahoo and all the others are listening.
